Confiscate land property of those torching land offices: PM
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday asked the law enforcement agencies to confiscate all the land property of those to be found guilty of torching land offices across the country.
"Those who will torch land offices and burn important land documents, all of their fathers' and grandfathers' land property will be confiscated," she said.
The Prime Minister said this while speaking at a function organised marking the 40th founding anniversary of the Islamic Foundation Bangladesh at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).
She said the criminals belonging to BNP-Jamaat alliance are setting fire to land offices in districts and upazilas across the country.
"What is the reason behind burning the documents of land offices?" Hasina questioned.
In this connection, the Prime Minister she said the government has already directed the intelligence agency to find out the culprits behind these recent incidents.
"All of their fathers' and grandfathers' land property will be confiscated, and they cannot be the owners of any land, they'll live in their respective areas, but they won't have any land of their own in the areas. We'll have to do that," she said.
On this day on 1975, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman inaugurated the activities of the Islamic Foundation.
