Police arrested a man on charges of raping an indigenous physically-challenged woman in Kaptai upazila of Rangamati yesterday.

Md Abu Taleb Saddam (27), was arrested from Dangnala village in Raikhali union around 5:30pm yesterday, our Rangamati correspondent reports.

The arrest was made after the victim's sister filed a rape case with Chandraghona Police Station around noon yesterday.

In the case statement, the complainant said the accused took her physically-challenged sister to an abandoned house and raped her on the morning of October 9.

Confirming the incident, Iqbal Bahar Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Chandraghona Police Station, said, "We have sent the accused to the court in the morning."
