Muggers shoot youth, snatch Tk 8 lakh in Dhaka

Muggers allegedly shot a youth and snatched Tk 8.77 lakhs from him in Lalbagh area of Dhaka this morning.

Victim Hasan Billah, 30, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around noon, said Mozammel Haque, in-charge of DMCH police camp.

Hasan came under the attack near Shahi Masjid in Lalbagh on his way to his office in Azimpur, the victim told The Daily Star.

Around five to six muggers fired shots and snatched the money when he was boarding a microbus, he said. 

He suffered bullet injuries in his left thigh.
