Two killed, 12 Injured in road accident on Dhaka-Ctg Highway

Two passengers were killed and 12 others injured after a bus overturned in the Eliotganj area of the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway in Cumilla late Thursday night.

Confirming the incident, Ruhul Amin, in-charge of Eliotganj Highway Police Station, said the Chattogram-bound bus lost control while taking a U-turn around 10:30pm and collided with a Dhaka-bound microbus.

The bus then overturned, leading to the casualties.

Highway police confirmed that the two deceased were male bus passengers.

The injured were rushed to the Chandina Upazila Health Complex and nearby hospitals for treatment.

Rescue operations continued until midnight, after which police reported the situation was under control.

The bodies of the two deceased are currently being kept at the Eliotganj Highway Police Station.
