Dhaka-Bhanga rail link via Padma Bridge to open tomorrow
The long-awaited Dhaka-Bhanga rail line via Padma Bridge is set to open tomorrow, giving a big boost to the country's railway connectivity.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the 82-kilometre Dhaka-Bhanga rail section at Mawa station at 11:00am tomorrow.
She is expected to take a train ride from Mawa to Bhanga with dignitaries, railway sources said.
Bangladesh Railway is implementing the Padma Bridge Rail Link Project to build a 169km rail line from Dhaka to Jashore via Padma Bridge at a cost of Tk 39,246.8 crore.
The entire line up to Jashore is expected to open in June 2024.
