Govt employees to enjoy 9-day Eid holiday

The government has declared a public holiday on April 3 through an executive order to ensure smooth journey on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Advisory Council today.
That means, the official Eid holiday is now from March 28 to April 3.
Additionally, March 28 marks Shab-e-Qadr, a public holiday, and is a Friday -- a day of weekend in Bangladesh.
March 26 is also a public holiday for Independence Day, making March 27 the only working day before the extended Eid holiday. Offices are set to reopen on April 6 (Sunday) as there is two-day weekly holiday on April 4 and 5.
