'Enough possibilities' for Yunus-Modi meeting on BIMSTEC sidelines

There are enough possibilities for a meeting between Chief Adviser Prof Muhammad Yunus and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the sidelines of the BIMSTEC Summit on April 4, according to Khalilur Rahman, the chief adviser's high representative on Rohingya and other priorities.
He made the comment at a media briefing at the Foreign Service Academy today.
On the condition of anonymity, a diplomatic source also confirmed to The Daily Star that the meeting between Yunus and Modi will take place on April 4. However, the details are still being worked out.
Prof Yunus is set to leave for Bangkok tomorrow morning to attend the summit.
"Bangladesh is going to be the next chair of BIMSTEC. Therefore, the heads of the member states will take this chance to meet the chief adviser and discuss the future course of BIMSTEC. So, we can expect that there will also be a meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Khalilur Rahman said.
He also mentioned that Bangladesh had earlier requested a meeting between Prof Yunus and Modi.
