Don’t compare your children to others: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today called upon parents to pay more attention to their children, saying that giving them love and affection can help them focus on their studies.
"Don't compare your kids to other children, rather let them develop their skills as per their merit," she said while unveiling the results of the 2023 Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and equivalent examinations at a ceremony at the Gono Bhaban in Dhaka.
The premier also urged parents to take initiative to make their children, who were not so successful in the examination, concentrate on their studies. "Don't scold them, rather give them affection and love so that they focus on their studies."
Mentioning that education is a wealth that cannot be taken away, she said, "It [education] will always be needed. So, you [parents] have to be more sincere towards education. I request you to pay attention to where your children go and what they do.
"I would like to tell the students who couldn't pass that there is nothing to be disappointed. Disappointment hurts humans more. Rather, I hope that you would prepare yourself to become successful in a better way in the future," she added.
The prime minister also asked the teachers to be more attentive to the unsuccessful students so that they can score well in the future.
Congratulating those who have passed the examinations, Sheikh Hasina advised them to stay updated with the world. The PM thanked those concerned for completing the examinations properly and publishing the results.
