Cumilla ex-MP Bahar's residence attacked

Protesters attacked former lawmaker of Cumilla-6 AKM Bahauddin Bahar's residence in the city early today.

They vandalised and torch the triplex house of Bahar around 1:30am

Eyewitnesses said the group vandalised windows of the house and torched some rooms by throwing inflammable materials.

Since the fall of Awami League government on August 5, Bahar and her daughter Tahsin Bahar Suchona, former mayor of Cumilla City Corporation, remain absconding along with other family members.

Contacted, Cumilla Kotwali Police Station's Officer-in-charge Mohinul Islam said, on information, a team of police was sent to the spot where a group of people were seen demonstrating.

He, however, did not provide any detail over the incident.
