Woman killed, husband and son injured as bus hits motorbike in Barishal

A woman died and her husband and their two-year-old son were injured as a bus hit a motorcycle in Bakerganj upazila of Barishal last night.

The deceased was identified as Hosne Ara Begum, wife of Lance Corporal Bulbul Ahmed.

Critically injured Bulbul and his son Ashik Bulbul Rupok, were airlifted to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH), said Rafiqul Islam, sub-inspector of Bakerganj Police Station.

Bulbul, stationed at Sheikh Hasina Cantonment in Barishal, was going to his village home in Dudhal Mou area on a motorbike with his wife Hosne Ara and their child. On their way, a Barisal-bound Sakura Paribahan from Kuakata bus hit the motorbike from behind on Barishal-Kuakata highway, leaving Hosne Ara dead on the spot.

Police said they seized the bus but the driver fled the scene.
