Two lines of bikes have been parked on this footpath in the Tejgaon area of the capital yesterday, leaving little to no space for pedestrians. This illegal parking is a public nuisance and prevents people from easily accessing the footpath to move through the nearby areas safely. Photo: Palash Khan
A residential area has sprung, erasing hillocks, in Sylhet city’s Baluchar area. Under the Awami League regime, a syndicate of land grabbers demolished at least 10-15 hillocks in the area to develop it. More than 100 families now live in this landslide-prone zone. Some individuals have illegally set up a makeshift stable and are keeping horses under the Mayor Hanif Flyover in the capital. These horses are often used to pull carriages on weekends, and they are rarely fed adequately for such strenuous activity. Their long hooves also suggest they are not properly cared for or regularly groomed. The photo was taken yesterday. Photo: Rashed Shumon
