Prof Nazmul Hossain appointed as DGME DG
The interim government yesterday appointed Prof Nazmul Hossain as the director general (acting) of Directorate General of Medical Education (DGME).
The government also appointed principals to five government medical colleges, including Dhaka Medical College.
The Health Education and Family Welfare Division of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare has issued separate circulars in this regard.
According to a circular signed by Dur-re-Sahwas, deputy secretary of the ministry, Nazmul Hossain, who served as a professor at the cardiac surgery department of Chittagong Medical College, has been appointed as the acting DG of the DGME.
In another circular, Prof Md Kamrul Alam has been appointed as the principal (acting) of Dhaka Medical College.
Prof Mohammad Jashim Uddin, who is a professor at the medicine department of Chittagong Medical College, has been appointed as principal (acting) of the medical college.
Prof Md Majharul Shahin and Prof Md Azizul Haque have been appointed as the principal (acting) of Sir Salimullah Medical College and the principal of Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College respectively.
Besides, the government apppointed Khandakar MD Faisal Alam, a professor of microbiology department of Rajshahi Medical College, as the principal (acting) of the medical colleges, added the circular.
