Earthquake jolts Dhaka, Ctg, Sylhet

A magnitude 5.5 earthquake jolted Dhaka, Sylhet, Chattogram and some other parts of the country this evening.

The earthquake was felt at 7:13pm, Golam Mostofa, an official of the Bangladesh Meteorological Department, Told The Daily Star.

The epicentre of the earthquake was in Myanmar, about 439km East of the capital.

There was no immediate report of casualties or damage.
