A new telefilm titled "Priyo Emon Raat", inspired by a timeless song of the National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, is set to premiere on Channel i. The production draws from Nazrul's much-loved romantic song "Priyo Emon Raat Jeno Jai Na Britha", which continues to resonate with audiences across generations.

Written and directed by Mushfiqur Rahman Gulzar, the telefilm will be broadcast on Wednesday, August 28, at 3:05pm, marking the poet's death anniversary. The telefilm pairs actors Mamnun Emon and Sabnam Faria for the first time in a Nazrul-inspired project, with supporting roles by Tushar Khan, Sabiha Maliha Shokh, Anondo, Shelly and others.

Speaking about the project, Gulzar said, "Nazrul's popular romantic songs are layered with stories if one listens with care. I have tried to bring one such song to life through this telefilm. This is also the first time Emon and Sabnam Faria have come together to act in a work inspired by Nazrul, and they have done an excellent job."

Kazi Nazrul Islam, revered equally for his poetry and music, left behind a vast legacy of songs that transcend time. With "Priyo Emon Raat", the creators aim to pay homage to the poet's artistry while connecting his lyrics with contemporary storytelling.
