'Shurongo' and ‘Priyotoma’ surpasses Hollywood films in Star Cineplex

Recently, Star Cineplex has released the list of top 10 movies of Star Cineplex for the month of July. And two Bangladeshi films have spotted the top two positions, beating top Hollywood big-budget movies. 

 

Star Cineplex released the top 10 films based on the ticket revenues and also stated the movie's ranking. Raihan Rafi' "Shurongo" came on top while Himel Ashraf's "Priyotoma" became the second topping over Hollywood like Tom Cruise's "Mission Impossible", "Barbie" and "Oppenheimer."

Afran Nisho's silver screen debut "Shurongo", released on Eid-Ul-Azha, remained housefull in several branches of Star Cineplex for almost a month. The film is still being screened at the cinema halls. 

Shakib Khan's tale of romance "Priyotoma", released across more than 100 halls across the country, has triumphed second in ticket revenues as fans flocked to see the superstar in the romantic avatar. 

Another Bangladeshi movie, Chayanika Chowdhury's "Prohelika" ranked 6th, made it to the top 10 movies to the best movies of July for the Cineplex. Although the film didn't get much halls compared to other movies, the film received positive responses from audiences.

Regarding Hollywood movies, "Oppenheimer" is at the 3rd spot while "Mission Impossible" is 4th. Greta Gerwig's "Barbie" is 5th while" Indiana Jones" is 7th. "Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse" ranked 8th while the 9th spot was secured by "Elemental," and the 10th spot went to "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts."
