Selena Gomez says Hailey Bieber reached out after getting death threats
Selena Gomez spoke out in support of Hailey Bieber, urging fans to stop speculating about the two and their alleged feud. She also revealed on her Instagram story that Hailey had contacted her about receiving death threats as a result of their 'feud'. She asked fans to stop being negative and bullying, emphasising that this is not what she stands for.
"Hailey Bieber reached out to me and let me know that she has been receiving death threats and such hateful negativity. Nobody should be subjected to hatred or bullying. I've always advocated for kindness and would like for this to end," read her post.
Hailey is married to Justin Bieber, Selena's ex-boyfriend. In recent weeks, social media users, particularly those on TikTok, have claimed that Hailey is a "mean girl" and that she and her friends have not always been kind to Selena.
Selena had previously uploaded some self-deprecating videos of herself to TikTok and Instagram Stories. "I laminated my brows too much," she said of herself. Later, Kylie Jenner posted an Instagram Story photo of herself with the caption "this was an accident???" over her brows. She also posted a photo of her pal Hailey Bieber's brows.
Fans interpreted this as an attack on Selena. Selena thanked fans for their support earlier this month on her TikTok account, saying, "Please, please be kinder and consider others' mental health." My heart has been heavy, and all I want is for everyone to be well. This is the first time that Selena has addressed Hailey by name through her social media channels. Last year, Selena and Hailey had met up and posed for a photo at the 2022 Academy Museum Met Gala.
Selena is currently filming the third season of Steve Martin and Martin Short's Emmy-nominated series "Only Murders in the Building." While filming for the show, the actor was recently seen on the streets of New York City in a wedding gown.
