The 45th annual Razzie Awards, Hollywood's infamous parody of the Oscars that highlights the year's worst films, saw "Madame Web" sweeping the top dishonours. The Marvel-based film took home multiple awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Actress, and Worst Screenplay.

Even the star power of Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga couldn't shield "Joker: Folie à Deux" from criticism, as the much-anticipated sequel failed to impress and ended up among the night's biggest losers.

Netflix's satirical comedy "Unfrosted", directed by Jerry Seinfeld, didn't fare any better, earning the comedian the title of Worst Actor, while Amy Schumer was recognised as Worst Supporting Actress for her role in the film.

Sharing the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, "Joker: Folie à Deux" and "Megalopolis" each secured two awards.

The "Joker" sequel was dubbed Worst Prequel, Sequel, Remake, or Rip-off, and also took home the award for Worst Screen Combo.

Meanwhile, Francis Ford Coppola's ambitious yet divisive "Megalopolis" earned the legendary director the title of Worst Director, with Jon Voight also receiving Worst Supporting Actor for his performance.

Pamela Anderson / "The Last Showgirl"

Francis Ford Coppola reacted to Megalopolis's multiple Razzie awards with unexpected enthusiasm, embracing the satirical honours in a social media post on Friday, stating, "I am honoured to receive the Razzie award in so many key categories for "Megalopolis" and to be recognised as Worst Director, Worst Screenplay, and Worst Picture at a time when few dare to challenge the mainstream conventions of modern filmmaking," he wrote on Instagram.

He continued, criticising the industry's aversion to innovation, "In today's broken world, where art is reduced to numerical ratings like a wrestling match, I refuse to adhere to the cowardly standards of an industry so afraid of risk that, despite its vast pool of young talent, may fail to produce films that will still resonate decades from now."

Meanwhile, the Razzie Redeemer Award, which recognises a past nominee who has since achieved critical success, was awarded to "The Last Showgirl", starring Pamela Anderson.

According to the Razzie website, the winners are determined by a voting body of over 1,100 members from across the United States and approximately two dozen other countries.
