In a joint endeavour by the governments of Bangladesh and India to commemorate the life of the Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the film "Mujib: The Making of a Nation" made its nationwide debut in cinemas today. Directed by the renowned Indian filmmaker Shyam Benegal, this cinematic tribute features Arifin Shuvoo taking on the role of Bangabandhu.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her strong wish for the nation to witness this biographical film, and she herself attended the premiere alongside the lead actor, Arifin Shuvoo.

Following the screening, when asked about PM Sheikh Hasina's impressions of the film, Arifin Shuvoo shared with The Daily Star, "PM Sheikh Hasina perceives that I have effectively encapsulated Bangabandhu's character. As for whether I have succeeded or not, I haven't deeply contemplated it. When someone closely connected to him, like a daughter, feels that her father's character has been splendidly portrayed, there's not much room left to speculate. Following the screening, she asked me, 'How did you portray it so beautifully?'"

Regarding his insights into the film, the actor's response was concise, "I've poured three years of hard work into this movie. It's there for people to watch, and there's no need for me to add anything further. We await the audience's verdict."

In "Mujib", Arifin Shuvoo leads the ensemble cast as the title character of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in this film, while, Nusrat Imrose Tisha plays Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib. Actress Nusraat Faria portrayed Bangabandhu's elder daughter and Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The biopic also features popular actors Chanchal Chowdhury, Prarthana Dighi, Tauquir Ahmed and others in different roles, and the entire trailer showcases some of the powerful and majestic moments from Bangabandhu's epic journey to the road of the country's independence.

The music of the film is produced by acclaimed Indian music director Shantanu Moitra, and the Bengali dialogues are penned by Sadhana Ahmed, Gias Uddin Selim, Shihab Shaheen and Anam Biswas from Bangladesh.
