Nusraat Faria returns to the big screen with ‘Tribunal’

Popular Bangladeshi actor Nusraat Faria, who has earned acclaim on both sides of the border, is set to make her big-screen return with "Tribunal", where she will play a woman who stands fearlessly for justice and truth.

Speaking about the film, Faria said, "The emotional depth, responsibility, and determination of the character really moved me. Playing such a strong female role is a rare opportunity for any actor. I want audiences to see a new side of me through this character."

After years of taking on multiple projects, Faria now says she has become more selective, focusing on meaningful scripts over quantity. "These days, I think more about the story than the project itself," she explained. "I want to be part of work that not only entertains but also provokes thought. I want to take on projects that define me as a complete performer. For me, artistic growth isn't about doing more—it's about diving deeper into the quality of what I do."

The actor revealed that she joined "Tribunal" because its story aligns with her own values and outlook. "I felt connected to the film's message," she said.

Beyond acting, Faria has also built a reputation as a singer. Her debut single "Pataka", released in 2018, turned heads for its unique sound and bold visuals. "Creating a good music video takes time," she noted. "I don't just want to release songs—I want each one to tell a story and inspire people visually."

In addition to films and music, Faria stays busy with live stage performances, which she says give her a special sense of connection with her fans. "The stage is where I draw my energy from," she said. "Seeing the audience's love reminds me why I do what I do."

While she has been a familiar face in both Dhallywood and Tollywood, Faria admitted that she hasn't worked in India recently due to logistical challenges. Still, she remains optimistic. "I grew up admiring so many Indian artistes," she said. "I hope to collaborate with some of them soon and reconnect with my Indian audience."
