Mithila stuns as Lady Macbeth in the trailer of ‘Mayaa’

Rafiath Rashid Mithila featuring Kolkata project "Mayaa", directed by Raajhorshee De, has dropped its trailer a while ago. The film is said to be a modern-day adaption of William Shakespeare's timeless tragedy "Macbeth", where Mithila is seen to don the role of Lady Macbeth.

Mayaa, the character, is said to be a combination of the play's Wayward sisters and Lady Macbeth. The film presents a feminist spin to the popular tragedy, focusing on Lady Macbeth's perspective this time.

The intriguing trailer showcases the tale of lust, greed and revenge between the rivalries that come across their way in the field of politics. Mithila's soliloquy in Bangla and Hindi is seen in the trailer, which is quite impressive.

Mithila elaborates on dynamic first look of 'Maya'

Although the film was supposed to be her Tollywood debut, it took quite a long time to release. The first look of the film was released on August 5, 2021. Till then there had been no update about the film's theatrical release. It is now expected to release in the coming April.
