Last two films of the year released today
As we are approaching the end of the year, the last two films titled, "Megh Roddur Khela" and "Birangona 71" released today in theatres. "Megh Roddur Khela" is directed by Awal Reza, while "Birangona 71" is directed by M Sakhawat Hossain.
"Megh Roddur Khela" follows the story of 15-year-old Ryan, who one day learns on the internet about how scientists have discovered that snails— on a barren island in the largest mangrove forest of the world, located in the south of Bangladesh—carry uranium in their shells. Ryan instantly decides to visit the island, hoping to find and extract the uranium from these snails to produce electricity and resolve the power crisis in the country. Six of his loving friends also join him on this quest.
The film stars Toitoi Hilali, Ornima Tabassum Nisha, Rafid Swaran Reza, Kingbadanti Chowdhury, Pran Roy, Majnun Mizan, Nazneen Hasan Chumki, Sahana Rahman Sumi, Dipu Mahmud, Milli Basar, and Milli Munsi among others.
"Megh Roddur Khela" was simultaneously released in cineplexes across Dhaka, Narayanganj and Chattogram.
On the other hand, "Birangona 71" tells the story of a war heroine, set in the background of '71. Actor Shirin Shila played the role of Birangona Joybun in the film. Actor Fazlur Rahman Babu played the character of her father.
The film has been released in 15 theaters across the country.
