‘Ekshahte Alada’: Yash Rohan navigates challenging, relatable role
With the release of “Ekshathe Alada” this Eid, The Daily Star spoke to Yash Rohan about his role in the romantic comedy and what sets the project apart.
The Hoichoi web film follows a couple navigating a strained marriage, as they deal with emotional distance, family expectations, and attempts to rediscover their connection. Rather than focusing on dramatic conflict, the story centres on everyday relationship struggles.
Speaking about his character, Yash Rohan highlighted the film’s emphasis on reality. “The best part about the film is that none of the characters are extraordinary. They are regular people living their regular lives and solving regular problems,” he said. “But these problems are what make you reflect on yourself.”
The film portrays a couple who gradually lose their way in a relationship that no longer feels fulfilling. By focusing on familiar situations, “Ekshathe Alada” aims to present a relatable picture of modern relationships.
Parsa Evana stars opposite Rohan, marking another collaboration between the two actors, who have previously appeared in projects such as “Bibhrom” and “Jaan Re”. Reflecting on their working experience, Rohan said, “She is a great actress, and working with her is always fun.”
The film is directed by Rezaur Rahman, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Kaarina Kaiser. Rohan spoke positively about the director’s approach to storytelling. “Rezaur bhai has a very fresh and unique perspective. I think we need more directors like him,” he said.
“Ekshathe Alada” is positioned as a story grounded in everyday life, focusing on how ordinary people deal with the complexities of relationships. Through its simple narrative, the film attempts to raise questions about communication, emotional distance, and whether love alone is enough to sustain a marriage.
