The Chorki original web-film "Amalnama", directed by Raihan Rafi, explores familiar yet unseen harsh realities. Its official poster, released on March 3, hints at a narrative involving "crossfire", "gunfights", and "extrajudicial killings" subtly woven into the background.

The web-film's official trailer was released yesterday, offering several hints about the story. Toward the end, Zahid Hasan's character is heard saying, "I need someone… there is pressure from the higher-ups." The trailer also features lines such as, "Those taken away at midnight by men in plain-clothes… do they all return home?"

"Amalnama" was created out of this necessity to speak up—a necessity that director Raihan Rafi deeply felt. He shared via a press release, "I kept thinking about this story for this film for a long time. Whenever an incident disturbs me, I try to dig deeper into it. The incident that inspired this film—though I can't reveal which one yet—deeply moved and devastated me. It's an intensely emotional story, and I found myself close to tears while working on it.

He shared that whenever he questioned society or the system through his work, obstacles arose but never held him back. "I make films as a form of protest. Though inspired by a true story, this is fiction—I aimed to capture the emotion. Similar incidents have occurred, and audiences will recognise them."

Whenever Raihan Rafi creates content based on real-life events, he ensures that even the perpetrators feel unsettled and realise the gravity of their actions. He claims that "Amalnama" follows the same approach. "Though inspired by a particular incident, the film encounters multiple events. However, I want to emphasise that this is also a father's story."

Tama Mirza takes on the character of Parveen in the web-film. She was seen running around frantically throughout almost the entirety of the trailer. The desperate yearning to get back her husband is very evident in many scenes. She expressed her feelings about her character, saying, "Once I understood my character, I couldn't detach myself from that world. It felt like everything was unfolding right before my eyes. It portrayed an intensely realistic character, and the tension will surely affect the audience."

The trailer additionally confirmed the release date of "Amalnama", which is set to premiere on Chorki at 12:01am on March 13.

In this project, Zahid Hasan plays Imran Zaman, a police officer. Sarika Sabrin portrays his wife. The second married couple in the film features Kamruzzaman Kamu and Tama Mirza. The cast also includes Gazi Rakayet, Gitashree Chowdhury, Hashnat Ripon, Jannatul Mawa Jhilick, AK Azad Setu, and Inaya Arya.

The screenplay of "Amalnama" has been written by Raihan Rafi and SM Nazrul Islam, based on the story by Raihan Rafi.
