‘Bridgerton’ season 4 trailer teases Benedict and Sophie’s romance
The trailer for "Bridgerton" season 4 has been released, offering viewers their first extended look at the upcoming chapter of the Regency era romance series. The new season will centre on the love story of Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Baek, signalling a shift in focus from previous instalments.
The trailer opens at a masquerade ball hosted by Lady Violet Bridgerton, where Benedict encounters a mysterious woman dressed in silver. Instantly drawn to her, he becomes determined to uncover her identity, setting the stage for what unfolds as a fairy-tale-style romance. While Benedict remains unaware of who the woman truly is, viewers are shown that she is Sophie Baek, a housemaid navigating rigid class boundaries.
The storyline hints at a "Cinderella"-inspired narrative, with Sophie caught between social expectations and personal desire. How their relationship develops — and whether it can survive the constraints of Regency society — forms the central arc of the season.
Following the trailer's release, fans reacted enthusiastically on social media, praising the chemistry between the lead characters. One viewer joked about Benedict finding himself in a love triangle with "two women who are actually the same person", while another highlighted shifting power dynamics in the show, noting Penelope's growing closeness with the Queen and Lady Danbury. Others embraced the fairy-tale elements, describing Benedict as a fitting "Prince Charming".
"Bridgerton", produced by Shondaland for Netflix, is based on the novel series by Julia Quinn. Set in an alternate version of early 19th century London, the series imagines a Regency society shaped by racial integration under the reign of King George III and Queen Charlotte.
The fourth season will be released in two parts, with the first premiering on January 29, 2026, followed by the second on February 26, 2026. Netflix has already renewed the series for a fifth and sixth season, which are expected to explore the stories of Eloise and Francesca Bridgerton.
