Over two decades ago, popular West Bengal actor Jisshu Sengupta made a mark in our local halls through his role in the Indo-Bangla co-production "Moner Majhe Tumi". Since then, Jisshu has become a familiar name to Bangladeshi moviegoers, with his prominent presence in multiple Kolkata films, reality shows, and the Telugu film industry.

This Eid-ul-Fitr, Jisshu is all set to star in "Borbaad", directed by Mehedi Hassan Hridoy. Fans were pleasantly surprised to see Jisshu in the teaser and the special video released on his birthday. With Shakib Khan and Jisshu sharing the screen, expectations are sky-high.

In a recent interview with Kolkata-based YouTube channel Sharod Music Ventures, Jisshu expressed his excitement about "Borbaad", saying, "The way 'Borbaad' has been crafted, I genuinely believe it has the potential to open a new chapter in Bengali cinema. The film has the energy to break all previous records. But, of course, it's up to the audience to decide once they watch it in theatres."

When asked why he chose to star in "Borbaad", considering he now does fewer Bengali films, Jisshu clarified, "It's not true that I do fewer Bengali films. I used to take on whatever came my way. But after various experiences, I've become more responsible with my choices. I now want to pick roles that resonate with me. I've always aimed to do at least one Bengali film a year. I believed in the story of 'Borbaad'."

He added, "During a Zoom call, when the director narrated the story, I felt confident about the plot. Once on set, I realised that the work would be executed well. I trust directors who have a clear vision of the entire film and each scene even before shooting. Hridoy achieved that confidence."

On sharing the screen with Shakib Khan, Jisshu said, "Shakib is Bangladesh's megastar, no doubt about that. I don't have the audacity to critique him. He's not only a brilliant co-star but also an extraordinary human being. Those who haven't interacted with him don't know just how wonderful he is."

Jisshu also expressed how comfortable he felt on the set of "Borbaad". "It felt like home. The director, producer, and everyone were fantastic. We shared so many fun moments on set. I've worked with teams that have been in the industry for 20–30 years, but as individuals, they weren't as genuine. But this team, they were simply wonderful."

"Borbaad", produced under the banner of Real Energy Productions by Shahreen Akhtar Sumi, stars Shakib Khan, Jisshu Sengupta, Idhika Paul, and Misha Sawdagor. As Eid approaches, this film has become one of the most anticipated releases, with cinema owners and audiences alike eagerly waiting for its premiere.
