Bangladeshi model-actress achieves Guinness World Record glory
The Guinness Book of World Records is a renowned compilation that motivates many individuals to dedicate a significant portion of their lives to achieving a place within its pages. Conversely, some individuals find themselves unexpectedly featured in the book. This tome typically encompasses remarkable human achievements, records involving speed and height, extreme natural phenomena, and rare objects.
Fortunately, Bangladeshi model-actress Rafah Nanjeba Torsa recently became one of 12 individuals who earned a spot on this prestigious list while representing Bangladesh at an Indian fashion show.
This fashion show took place on the world's highest traffic-congested road, an accolade recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. A total of 12 people had the privilege of having their names recorded in the book as a result of their participation in this remarkable fashion event.
The actress is overwhelmed by her success and shared, "It's a matter of great pride to have represented Bangladesh on a platform as esteemed as the Guinness World Records. The BGMEA played a pivotal role in my journey. I hope our honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and the people of our nation take immense pride in this accomplishment."
She continued, "I humbly request everyone to keep me in their thoughts and prayers, enabling me to achieve even more for our country, its entertainment industry, and the garment sector in the future. This accomplishment is especially significant for our nation since, to the best of my knowledge, this marks the first instance of Bangladesh earning a Guinness World Record through a model (my work). All 12 of us will receive individual certificates soon."
The fashion show was held at Umling La, India's highest drivable road, situated at an astounding altitude of 19,240 feet.
This remarkable event was organized by the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council in collaboration with the Ladakh Arts and Entertainment Alliance. The Indian Army and the Border Roads Agency provided their support for this initiative. Models from 12 different countries worldwide participated in the show.
The organizers revealed that the Umling La Fashion Show centered around the theme "Vasudhaib Kutumbkam" (One World One Family), aimed at promoting their culture in conjunction with the highly esteemed Gi Tagged Ladakh pashmina fabric.
