Arshad Warsi recalls losing his parents at 14: ‘Wish I had given my mother water’
Actor Arshad Warsi has shared an emotional reflection on one of the most painful experiences of his life — losing both of his parents as a teenager. In a recent appearance on Raj Shamani's podcast, the "Munna Bhai MBBS" star opened up about the grief, guilt, and lessons he carries from that time.
Warsi revealed that he was just 14 years old when both his mother and father passed away within a short period. Recalling his mother's final moments, he said she had been suffering from kidney failure and undergoing dialysis. Doctors had warned the family against giving her water, a restriction that left young Arshad conflicted.

When she died that night, it broke me. Back then, I thought giving her water would have made me responsible for her death. But today, as an adult, I feel I should have given her the water. Sometimes we act out of guilt instead of compassion."
After losing his parents, Arshad's life changed drastically. "We went from living in a big house to smaller ones. My father was already struggling financially. When they died, I didn't cry right away — I was trying to be the man of the house. But a few weeks later, everything hit me all at once," he said.
Recent work and upcoming projects
Warsi recently starred alongside Akshay Kumar in "Jolly LLB 3", which released in September 2025 to positive reviews for its blend of humour and courtroom drama. He also appeared in "Bhagwat – Chapter One: Raakshas", a ZEE5 crime thriller co-starring Jitendra Kumar, and had a role in Aryan Khan's directorial debut, "The Bads of Bollywood".
