Apurba breaks down common misconceptions regarding ‘acting’
Popular actor Ziaul Faruq Apurba called on the three common misconceptions about artistes' working and acting in multiple mediums and genres in a recent press interview.
The actor cleared out his stances after a special screening arranged for his recent much-anticipated Deepto Play original web film, "UNO Sir", which was simultaneously released on the platform on Saturday at Deepto TV premises in Tejgaon in the capital.
After the screening, Apurba stood in front of the journalists there to answer their queries regarding his new endeavours, career and aspirations. Responding to a question, Apurba said, "It is a common misconception that artistes who work on television do not perform well in movies, or they lack acceptability in movies; this perception exists in various ways."
"I don't know how this perception or judgment has been made. For this belief, we actors often lag behind in our careers. Many producers say, 'Oh, they won't be able to do it!' However, a new trend has emerged recently. Everyone is working in different stories and characters in movies, and they are doing well," the actor stated.

The second misconception is about models not being able to act, said the "Boro Chele" famed star. "On the contrary", he said, "The most popular stars of our time now came from modelling. Take Afran Nisho, Mehazabien Chowdhury, and many others who have come from modelling as examples. So, it's a misconception that models cannot act. With proper exposure, grooming, and trying, everything is possible."
Apurba also broke down the most common perception about himself being cast in similar kinds of content and characters. The "Buker Moddhye Agun" star said, "This is also a wrong perception about me. Those who are my old audiences, who watched my dramas before the massive expansion of YouTube in the country, know how many diverse characters I have portrayed over the years."
Web film "UNO Sir" explores the dilemma of a government official, Zayed Ashrafi, portrayed by Apurba and popularly known as UNO Sir in the film, who addresses the challenge of fostering a love for the country through personal and professional responsibilities in the web of bureaucracy.
Directed by Syed Shakil, the story has been written by Ahsan Habib, while its script has been handled by Mejbah Uddin Sumon.
Apart from Apurba, the film also features Tanjim Saiyara Totini, Intekhab Dinar, Joyraj, and Naresh Bhuiyan, among others. Presented by Vision, the film is produced by Kazi Media Limited.
About working with newcomers like Tanjim Saiyara Totini, Apurba says that he has always preferred to work with new actors from a sense of responsibility, as he was too a newcomer in the beginning of his career. "Even Mehazabien Chowdhury and Tanjin Tisha were newcomers when they began their career with him, and through effort, I believe one can find success starting from scratch," Apurba concluded.
