Anushka Sharma's Cannes debut with Kate Winslet, to honour women in cinema

She will join other Bollywood actors such as Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and more to walk the red carpet at Cannes. 

According to reports, Anushka and Hollywood actress Kate Winslet will honor women in film at the festival. The French Ambassador to India, Emmanuel Lenain, took to Twitter to share a photo and wrote, "A pleasure meeting with Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma. I wish Virat and Team India all the best for upcoming tournaments and discussed Anushka's trip to Cannes."

The festival's 76th iteration will run from May 16 to May 27, 2023. Aishwarya Rai, Vidya Balan, Sharmila Tagore, and Deepika Padukone, among others, have previously served on the jury for the prestigious French festival.

Other Bollywood celebrities who have attended the festival and walked the red carpet include Priyanka Chopra, Sonam Kapoor, Mallika Sherawat, Pooja Hegde, Hina Khan, Tamannaah Bhatia, and Aditi Rao Hydari. This year's Cannes Film Festival will feature the Indian movies "Kennedy" and "Agra".

Anushka is making a comeback to the big screen this year with the Netflix original movie "Chakda 'Xpress", in which she plays cricketer Jhulan Goswami. Her last movie, "Zero", starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif and was released in 2018.
