Nationwide photography contest launched to commemorate Tarique Rahman’s return
A photography-based platform, Chobir Golpo, has announced a nationwide photography competition titled "The story of returning home after 17 years", centring on BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman's return to the country.
Founded in 2005 as a photo-story platform, Chobir Golpo said the competition aims to document, through photography, the emotions, expectations, preparations and public gatherings of supporters surrounding Rahman's return. Photographers have been encouraged to capture the aesthetic, human and celebratory aspects of the moment.
The photographs taken on December 24, 25 and 26, 2025 will be eligible for submission. The competition will be held in three categories: single image mobile photography, single image DSLR photography, and DSLR photo story.
The initial selection of submitted works will be carried out by Chobir Golpo's chief photographer Khaled Hossain Parag and his team, while the final judging panel will comprise renowned photographers of the country.
According to a press release, selected and winning photographers will receive certificates, commemorative gifts and opportunities for interviews. Additionally, the best selected photographs will be featured in a special calendar for 2026.
The deadline for photo submissions is December 31, 2025.
