Chhayanaut calls cultural solidarity against violent assaults
In protest against violent assaults on Bangladesh's age-old Bengali cultural traditions, Chhayanaut has announced a musical solidarity gathering titled "Gaan-e Gaan-e Songhoti Shomabesh" (Solidarity Through Song).
The programme will be held tomorrow (December 23), at 4pm in front of Chhayanaut Bhaban.
Organised as a collective cultural response to recent attacks on artistic and cultural expression, the event will feature songs symbolising resistance, unity, and the enduring spirit of Bengali heritage.
Chhayanaut has invited artistes, writers, intellectuals, journalists, cultural activists, and progressive-minded citizens to join the gathering and stand in solidarity against violence targeting culture.
The organisers said the programme seeks to reaffirm the role of music and culture as powerful tools of protest, resilience, and communal harmony in the face of intolerance.
