5 Bangladeshi artists' works exhibited in the US

Yesterday, Morshed Mishu announced on his Facebook that he and 4 Bangladeshi artists' art works were exhibited in Cambridge, Boston, USA under the title "Electric Bangladesh; Fossil Free Future". The event took place on August 1-4 at Cambridge Foundry. 

Five Bangladeshi artists have joined forces to urge General Electric (GE), one of America's largest and most recognisable corporations, to halt new fossil fuel projects in Bangladesh. The exhibition advocates for a peaceful and secure future in which lives and livelihoods are not disturbed and Bangladeshis have access to sustainable energy.

Morshed Mishu shared the news along with the cartoons on his Facebook. 

"These 2 cartoons of mine were exhibited in Cambridge, Boston, USA titled "Electric Bangladesh; Fossil Free Future", Along with 4 other amazing Artists from Bangladesh. Exhibition was curated by Zaid Islam, organised by Market Forces & CLIMARTE - Arts for a Safe Climate. Later on, these artworks will be sent to General Electric (GE) Head office & share holders.It was an honour to be a part of this exhibition," read his post.

UNMAD pays tribute to 'Mohanagar 2'

Aside from Morshed Mishu, the event featured projects by Ata Mojlish, AFM Moniruzzaman Shipu, Monica Jahan Bose, and Debashish Chakrabarty. The event featured "Daily Diet 1" and "Daily Diet 2" by Ata Mojlish, as well as "The GE Barbeque" and "Life on the GE Raft" by AFM Moniruzzaman Shipu. "Periphery's Echo 1" and "Periphery's Echo 2" by Debashish Chakrabarty and Morshed Mishu's cartoons "CO2 vs See O2" and "GE Greenwash; Farting CO2 Gas" were exhibited at the event, as well as "Bay of Bengal" (Shad/Ilish fish) and "Bring Good Things to Life" by Monica Jahan Bose.
