Actress Tahmina Sultana Mou, active in Bangladeshi television and film since 1999, says she is focusing on roles with depth and significance rather than the sheer volume of serials.
She has acted in hundreds of one-hour plays, telefilms, and serials, and has also appeared on stage and in commercials. She is currently shooting multiple Eid dramas, with two projects completed and a third scheduled to begin shortly.
In the Eid drama “Happy Divorce”, directed by Topu Khan, Mou plays one of two sisters alongside Keya Payel. Describing the story as a family drama, she praised the director’s organisation and the ensemble cast.

Another completed project, “Mon Priya”, directed by Mahidul Mahim, casts Mou in a lead role alongside Jovan and singer Porshi. Mou said the drama has a compelling storyline and should appeal to Eid audiences. A third production, directed by Muhammad Mostofa Kamal Raj, is expected to begin shooting soon.
Despite her extensive experience in serial dramas, Mou has recently stepped back from long-running projects. She explained that compressed shooting schedules—sometimes filming two days of work in a single day—create stress and limit character development.
“In serials, characters can get lost in the rush, and storylines often drag without proper conclusions,” she said. Mou stressed she would return to serials if offered well-developed roles.
She also highlighted the rise of family dramas on Bangladeshi television as a positive trend, allowing larger casts to work and giving audiences access to diverse performances.

Reflecting on her career, Mou cited “Gulshan Avenue” and “Sonar Pakhi Rupar Pakhi” as major turning points. Her portrayal of Setara Begum in “Sonar Pakhi Rupar Pakhi” remains widely remembered, while “Gulshan Avenue” continues to be recognised as a landmark project in her career.
Looking forward, Mou said she is open to playing a wide range of characters—police officers, lawyers, or other roles—provided they offer meaningful scope and substance.
