‘Notun Kuri’ auditions begin tomorrow across Bangladesh

Bangladesh Television's iconic talent hunt programme "Notun Kuri", South Asia's first-ever reality show, is kicking off its latest auditions to discover young performers across the country.

According to a press release issued on Monday (September 22), the regional-level auditions will take place from September 24 to September 29. Contestants who earn the coveted "Yes Card" at this stage will advance to the divisional round, scheduled between October 4 and October 11. All auditions will run from 9am to 6pm, though sessions may continue beyond that time until all registered participants are evaluated. Applicants will be notified of their audition dates via SMS. Successful divisional contestants will later compete at different stages of the BTV Dhaka Centre.

This year's competition will be held across nine categories: acting, recitation, storytelling/comedy, general dance/classical dance, patriotic songs/modern songs, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, folk music, and Hamd-Naat. Participants will be split into two age groups — Group A (6–11 years) and Group B (11–15 years).

Auditions will be hosted at designated cultural venues across the country, including BTV's Dhaka Centre (Dhaka, Gazipur, Manikganj, Munshiganj, Narayanganj, and Narsingdi), Faridpur Shishu Academy, Mymensingh Shilpakala Academy, Sylhet Shilpakala Academy, Rangpur Shilpakala Academy, Dinajpur Shilpakala Academy, Rajshahi Shilpakala Academy, Bogura Shilpakala Academy, Khulna Shilpakala Academy, Jessore Shilpakala Academy, Kushtia Shilpakala Academy, Barishal Shilpakala Academy, Chattogram Shilpakala Academy, Rangamati Hill Development Board Auditorium, Cumilla Nazrul Institute, and Noakhali Shilpakala Academy.
