Taylor Swift has announced eight new acoustic tracks from her latest studio album, "The Life of a Showgirl", released on October 3. The original album featured 12 songs, including "Opalite", "Wood", "Elizabeth Taylor", and "Actually Romantic".

The pop superstar revealed the news on Instagram, stating that the new acoustic versions will be released across four limited-edition CDs, available on her website for 24 hours. The tracks include "Opalite", "Ruin the Friendship", "The Fate of Ophelia", "Wi$h Li$t", "The Life of a Showgirl", "Eldest Daughter", and "Elizabeth Taylor".

"File this under 'save your best for the finale'… I think my favourite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises. So I went back into the studio with Max and Shellback to record acoustic/unplugged versions of a few Showgirl songs with brand new vocals and production," Swift wrote on Instagram.

"The Fate of Ophelia" has already broken records, becoming the most-streamed song in a single day on Spotify this year. However, despite the album's strong reception, some fans criticised parts of the lyrics, suggesting Swift was 'trying to be like Sabrina Carpenter'.

Swift's previous project, "The Tortured Poets Department", was a 31-track double album released in 2024. She announced "The Life of a Showgirl" while accepting her Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album for "Midnights".

Her "Eras Tour" ran from March 2023 to December 2024, spanning 149 shows and generating more than USD 2 billion in ticket sales.
