‘People like him keep music beautiful’: Asif Akbar shares stage with Bassbaba Sumon in Boston

Several Bangladeshi musicians and bands are currently on concert tours across the United States. After 17 years, popular singer Asif Akbar has returned to perform in the country, while rock band Aurthohin is touring the US for the first time. On Saturday (October 25), both acts shared the same stage in Boston.

From the greenroom, Asif posted a photo with Aurthohin's bassist and vocalist, Saidus Salehin Sumon, on his Facebook page. Fans flooded the comments section, expressing admiration for the two artistes.

Sharing the post, Asif wrote, "Our show took place on October 25 in Boston. Over the years, I have had the privilege of sharing the stage with musical legends as well as with young talents. I am not a musician, yet fate has granted me success here. That is why my sense of responsibility is even greater."

He continued, "In Boston, I performed on the same stage with the renowned band Aurthohin. I have previously performed alongside the living legend Sumon (Bassbaba) bhai. He has always been enthusiastic about me, and tonight was no different—he stood backstage and watched my performance."

Concluding his post, Asif wrote, "Even though life's steamroller has run over him, Sumon bhai remains steadfast in his faith. It is people like him who make the music industry still feel beautiful. Prayers and best wishes for you, Sumon bhai. We love you—you are our living legend. Wishing you good health and a long life. Endless love."
