New album ‘Bujhlam’ drops tomorrow featuring Konal, Dola, Masha and Antara

A brand-new album titled "Bujhlam", presented by GaanShala and Ek Nirjhorer Gaan, is set to be released tomorrow. The album features four original tracks written and composed by Enamul Karim Nirjhor and performed by celebrated singers Somnur Monir Konal, Masha Islam, Dola Rahman, and Antara Rahman.
The tracklist includes Konal's "Drishyer Chhaya", Masha Islam's "Eki Bhabe Bujhlam", Antara Rahman's "Bojhapora Shobdo Ta", and Dola Rahman's "Thakle Sahosh". Composer and lyricist Nirjhor explained that the songs, shaped in the blues genre, explore themes of solitude, inner conflict, and the nuanced emotions of isolation. He added that the blend of words, melodies, and presentation creates a "beauty of silence" meant to deeply engage listeners. The musical arrangement was done by Autumnal Moon.
In his reflections, Nirjhor shared, "We've been going through uncertain times. Reality doesn't always align with what we want. That thought led to experimenting with new musical arrangements, so that the artists could connect more closely with both the lyrics and reality."
Autumnal Moon noted that this album is a unique project since four leading female vocalists came together to lend their voices to blues compositions — a rarity in the Bangladeshi music scene.
The album rollout begins on September 25 with the release of "Drishyer Chhaya" (sung by Konal) on GaanShala-IKNC's YouTube channel, followed by one new track every week.
Konal expressed her excitement, saying, "Singing the blues in our own style was a wonderful experience. The lyrics are powerful, and the melodies stay with you. I hope listeners will love them as much as we loved recording them."
"Bujhlam" is part of a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) and ISR (Intellectual Social Responsibility) initiative by GaanShala, designed to ensure sustainable income opportunities for music professionals. Enamul Karim Nirjhar has voluntarily contributed through writing, composing, and overseeing the entire project.
