Musician Ahrar Masud Diep passes away
Ahrar Masud Diep, the vocalist of Calypso, Rustoff, and Eclipse, passed away yesterday. He was also part of Drockstars 2007, where he performed with his band Eclipse.
His band Rustoff shared an emotional statement on social media, saying they were struggling to cope with the tragic loss.

The news has drawn widespread condolences from fellow musicians and bands. Powersurge, who once competed alongside Eclipse in Drockstars 2007, remembered him in a heartfelt tribute.
"His mastery of high-pitch singing was extraordinary. If you've listened to Eclipse, you already know, but even before that we knew him as someone who could brilliantly perform 'Yngwie Malmsteen', 'Symphony X', 'Dream Theater', and later, 'Children of Bodom' with absolute command!"
Recalling those early days, the band added: "Many of you surely remember Drockstars 2007, when his band Eclipse and our band Powersurge competed in the same contest! It feels like a lifetime ago, yet today it feels as if it all happened just yesterday. So many memories, so many nerves, and so many joyful moments, forever engraved in our souls. Ahrar Masud Diep was more than just a vocalist. He had strength, creativity, and passion itself. He inspired everyone around him, and with his humility and kindness, he turned everyone into his well-wisher."
Other tributes also poured in. Arbovirus wrote, "Inna Lillahi Wa inna Ilaihe rajiun. Our friend Ahrar Masud Diep is no more."
Chirtkutt shared, "Another musician gone too soon; Ahrar Masud (Diep) bhai from the band Calypso, Eclipse & Rustoff! We had met a few times and you were a humble soul. Rest in peace, brother!"
Singer Elita Karim also mourned the loss, writing: "Shocked and heartbroken. Ahrar Masud Diep, a musician, a father and an NSU alumni, passed away a while ago. So many memories from our Banani campus. May you rest in peace."
