Musical evening honours Khairul Anam Shakil’s five-decade journey

A celebration marking singer Khairul Anam Shakil's 50 years in music was held today, December 13 at Chhayanaut Milonayoton in Dhaka. The event was organised by Arunronjani and Shakil's students to honor the veteran artiste's five-decade musical journey.

The program featured goodwill messages from Dr Sarwar Ali, Mofizul Haque, Sultana Kamal, and Mahmudur Rahman Benu, who paid tribute to Shakil's contributions to Bengali music.

As the highlight of the evening, Khairul Anam Shakil performed 15 of his favorite songs, including "E Nohe Bilas Bondhu", "Pashaner Bhangale Ghum", "He Priya Amare Dib Na Bhulite", "Abar Bhalobhashar Shadh Jage," "Keno Aan Phul-Dor," "Sediner Sona Jhora Sandhya", "Sonar Hate Sonar Kankan", "Momo Moner Bijone", and "Poth Harabo Bole."

The concert opened with Shakil's students performing the ensemble piece "E Ki Aporup Rupe Ma Tomay Herinu Pallijononi."

A documentary chronicling Khairul Anam Shakil's musical career was also screened during the program. The event was hosted by Tropa Majumdar, with support from Enigma TV.
