Mahtim Shakib and Sanzida Mahmood Nandita crowned Best Singer

Mahtim Shakib and Sanzida Mahmood Nandita jointly lifted the Best Singer award at the Blender's Choice–The Daily Star OTT & Digital Content Awards 2024, for their soul-stirring rendition of "Megh Balika" from Shihab Shaheen's OTT film "Kacher Manush Dure Thuiya". The duet's delicate blend of emotion and melody made it one of the year's most memorable soundtracks.
Mahtim, who first rose to prominence through YouTube covers and later made his mark with film playback songs such as "Pran Juriye Jay" in "Moner Moto Manush Pailam Na", has steadily evolved into one of the most recognisable young voices in Bangladeshi music. He has expanded his artistry through cross-border projects like "Tumi Jantei Paro Naa" in Kolkata's "Cheeni 2" and continues to experiment with new formats, including his visual-musical series "Mahtim on the Mic".
Nandita, meanwhile, has carved a distinct niche since her early recognition on "Bangladeshi Idol". With a repertoire that spans playback numbers like "Nona Jol" in "Haldaa" to independent releases such as "Hothat Bhalobasa", she has become a versatile performer. Her breakthrough came with "Coke Studio Bangla", where "Bulbuli" and "Darale Duaarey" showcased her ability to revive folk and Nazrul geeti with a modern sensibility.
Their win this year recognises a remarkable duet and highlights the rising strength of Bangladesh's new generation of singers in both traditional and digital music.
