Bangladeshi artistes raising funds for Bapi Das from Moheener Ghoraguli

Bapi Das, the last pillar of Moheener Ghoraguli, is struggling with third stage cancer. Through social media, funds are being raised for his treatment. Moheener Ghoraguli revolutionised the world of Bengali music, bringing forth radical changes.

In 1975, Moheener Ghoraguli were one of the first rock bands. Almost 47 years have passed since they first came around. Yet, even today, their songs are still popular. Even though their songs are still around, one by one, the band members have passed away. Now only one members remains.

 

Tapas Das, better known as Bapi Das in the music industry, is currently suffering from cancer. He is one of the original members of Moheener Ghoraguli. Currently, he is undergoing chemotherapy. However, his family can no longer afford to pay for his treatment.

To help fund his treatment, many Bengali aristes have come forward on social media to support him. It started off with aritstes on the other side of the border and now artistes from Bangladesh are also coming forward to support their beloved Bapi da.

Bangladeshi artistes are organising a concert titled "Bhalobashi Jyotsnay". All of the money collected from this concert will be spent on the treatment of Tapas Bapi Das.

The artistes who have taken this initiative are—Orghyo, Antu Das, Armeen Musa, Aseer Arman, Ahnaf Khan Anik, Ahmed Hasan Sunny, Kaaktaal, Joy Shahriar, Tanzir Tuhin (Abhas), Tilok, The Rehman Duo, Nayeem Mahmud, Probar Ripon (Shonar Bangla Circus), Farhan, Farah Diba Tasnim, Bhasha, Maisha Maryam, Masud Hasan Ujjal, Mishu (Shohortoli), Muyeez Mahfuz, Musa Kalim Mukul, Raju (Shohojiya), Rabbi, Raihanul islam Shubhro, Rashid Sharif Shoyeb (Meghdol), Riyad Hasan, Roksana Amin, Labik Kamal Gaurob, Limon, Lisan, Sandhi, Shovvota, Salekin, Sina Hasan (Bangla Five), Shuhrid, Shuvendu Das Shuvo.

The concert will take place on July 14 around 4:00 pm, at the Liberation War Museum auditorium in Agargaon, Dhaka.
