Aurthohin announces ‘Phoenix’s Diary 2’ and US tour

After nearly three years away from the studio, Bangladesh rock band Aurthohin has announced the release of a new album, "Phoenix's Diary 2", scheduled for October 17.
The band will mark the launch with a secret listening event on October 10 and an accompanying US tour running from late October into mid-December, with planned stops across New York, Pennsylvania, Los Angeles, Chicago, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts and Virginia.

Aurthohin's manager, Ehsanul Haq, says the new record balances the expectations of long-time fans with sounds meant to engage younger listeners. "We selected songs that speak to both our old supporters and today's audiences," he said, describing the album as a deliberate return designed to reconnect the band with live crowds after a difficult interval.

Frontman Saidus Salehin Khaled Sumon — affectionately known to fans as BassBaba — has, in recent years, managed a fraught period of illness that interrupted Aurthohin's public schedule. Long medical treatment for cancer and spinal-cord issues forced the band to scale back performances and postpone plans. Sumon has undergone several surgeries. With his health stabilising, the band now intends to resume a regular touring rhythm.

The current Aurthohin lineup features Sumon alongside drummer Mark Don and guitarist Ehtesham Ali, and the manager says the touring itinerary could expand to a dozen US cities. Final venue and dates will be announced on the band's social pages.
For audiences who have followed Aurthohin since their early days, the return of new work and a broad international tour is more than a commercial gesture: it is an assertive statement about persistence in the face of illness, and about keeping a live music culture alive across borders. Fans can expect an album release on October 17 and the band's listening event on October 10; further tour details will follow via Aurthohin's official channels.
