Security beefed up at chief justice’s village home
Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha’s village home in Moulvibazar was put under beefed up security since this morning ahead of two war trial verdicts.
Enamul Haque, officer-in-charge of Kamalganj Police Station, confirmed of the security status to our Moulvibazar correspondent around 11:00am.
“We want to avoid any untoward situation,” he said ahead of the war trial verdicts of Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mojaheed.
As part of security measures, additional policemen were deployed around the house “as per orders from the high ups,” the OC said.
Chief justice’s bench has slated to deliver the verdicts of these two top war criminals at 11:30am.
Intelligence agencies have voiced a security concern, saying that there is credible threat of terror, over the verdicts of the key BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami leaders.
