Tumpa murder: Husband held in Jessore
Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) has arrested the husband of Rokhsana Akhter Tumpa, who was reportedly stabbed dead by him at a boutique shop in Mohammadpur on Sunday.
Sabuj Sheikh, 29, was arrested from a residential hotel in Jessore last night, Maj Mohammad Ali, acting commanding officer of Rab-2, today said at a press conference at its headquarters in Agargaon.
Shobuj was planning to flee India, the Rab official said adding that during primary interrogation, Sabuj confesses his crime.
On Sunday, Tumpa, 26, a sales-woman at the boutique shop “Nabba” on Razia Sultana Road, was allegedly stabbed to death by Sabuj following an altercation.
Tumpa along with another colleague was working on that day when suddenly her husband showed up around 11:30 am at the boutique shop.
They both were having a conversation but soon it turned into an altercation. At one stage, Shobuj “took out his knife and stabbed her to death”.
