Pro-BNP Mayor’s son sued for Facebook post on PM

Shahzadpur municipality mayor’s son has been sued for posting a distorted image of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and a derogatory comment about her on Facebook.

Sub-Inspector Md Nazrul Islam of Shahzadpur Police Station filed the case today under Information and Communication Technology Act against Sajib Islam, son of pro-BNP Mayor Nazrul Islam, said Md Abdul Hai, officer-in-charge of the same station.

Shajib, 25, published the post on his Facebook page on March 16, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting the police official.

Shajib went on hiding after the case was filed this afternoon, the OC added.

The mayor himself is accused in an arson case and remains in hiding since long, the OC added.
