UP polls security guard ‘shoots himself’ in Barisal

A security guard deployed for the union parishad election in Barisal’s Banaripara upazila “accidentally shot himself” this morning, an election officer said.

The deceased was identified as Al-Amin, 25, a member of Ansar VDP, reports our Barisal correspondent quoting Returning Officer Kawsar Hossain.

Amin was posted at the Murarbari Government Primary School voting centre under Bisharkandi union for security, said the official. He accidentally shot himself while loading his firearm.
