PM to inaugurate construction of Padma bridge before Dec 16

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the main construction works of Padma Multipurpose Bridge before the Victory Day on December 16, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said today.

Test piling is ongoing at present, piling for the bridge construction will begin in December, the minister said while visiting the construction site of the Padma bridge at Mawa in Munshiganj.

After visiting the site, the minister said around 26 percent work on the bridge has been completed so far.

All construction materials, instruments and machineries are ready and all preparations have also been taken, our Munshiganj correspondent reports quoted the minister as saying.
