Mob beats 3 ‘robbers’ dead in Jessore

Three alleged robbers were beaten to death by a mob in Jhikargacha upazila of Jessore early today.

Confirming the incident Mollah Khabir Ahmed, officer-in-charge (OC) of local police station, told our Benapole correspondent that identity of the deceased was not known immediately.

They were beaten by locals for their attempt to commit a robbery in the area around 3:00am, the police official said.

On Monday, Tohid, a deputy assistant police inspector, was stabbed by robbers in the same area, the correspondent adds.
