Lowest ever 2.6 degrees recorded in Tetulia
Bangladesh recorded its lowest ever temperature in history at 2.6 degrees in Tetulia, Panchagarh under the influence of a severe cold wave prevailing through the northern districts.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department’s Tetulia branch Assistant Met Officer Md Raidul Islam told our Thakurgaon correspondent the lowest ever temperature was recorded at 8:38am this morning.
Meanwhile, more winter for Dhaka city dwellers as the Met office has forecast of the mercury dipping below 7 degrees Celsius tonight. It says, the minimum temperature in Dhaka today will be 6.8 degrees.
During daytime today, the maximum temperature is expected to reach 20.4 degrees Celsius.
Besides, in Nilphamari, the temperature dipped to 3 degrees Celsius, UNB reports.
Currently, a cold wave is sweeping over Rajshahi, Pabna, Dinajpur and Kushtia regions, the Met office says. It forecasts moderate to thick fog in parts of the country during the day.
