Kamrul to be brought back after Eid: Muhith
Finance Minister AMA Muhith today said Kamrul Islam, an accused of 13-year-old boy Rajon killing, would be brought back home from Saudi Arabia after Eid-ul-Fitr.
"Assistance was provided to Kamrul to flee from Bangladesh. None but expatriates in Saudi Arabia caught him. They deserve thanks for their role," he said.
Muhith said this while consoling the bereaved parents of slain child Sheikh Samiul Alam Rajon at their Kandigaon Badeali village in Sylhet Sadar upazila.
At that time, the minister said, a fund (FDR) would be created depositing Tk 5 lakh initially for educational purposes of Rajon's only brother and for trouble-free life of his family.
Speaking at a public rally coming out of Rajon's house, Muhith said, "The killers of Rajon were beasts. The punishment of his killers would be ensured within the shortest possible time. Those who were involved in his murder and those who helped Kamrul flee the country would not be spared.
"They will have to face justice. I came to know that some policemen refused to register a case when Rajon's father turned up at the police station to file a murder case. Rather they misbehaved with him. Proper punishment would be handed down to those involved policemen after investigation."
Awami League Organizing Secretary Misbah Uddin Siraj and Sadar Upazila Chairman Ashfaque Ahmed also spoke at the rally, among others.
